I'm going to be on 20/20!

Just got the okay to finally announce it... and I know many of you asked me to keep you posted.  So, here is the info:

I will appear on ABC News' 20/20 this Friday, September 23rd at 10:00pm EST!

The entire hour is dedicated to YouTube.  It will be a great piece and you'll hear stories from different video creators who have turned their passion into a business using video.

p.s.- no baby yet.  I'm hoping the excitement of the 20/20 airing will send me into labor since she is a week overdue.

Guest Speaker & Trunk Show!

I have some great news to announce about October's meeting!

We are so happy and excited to host our first official guest speaker!

Ruthie Miller, long-time traditional and art quilter, will be at our next meeting, October 5th.  Ruthie is fun and very creative! She will present a "Don't be afraid of color" lecture and a trunk show.  There will also be a Q&A session at the end.

She has been quilting since the early 1990s and also designs patterns.  She is currently working at The Fabric Art Shop in Lake City.   

Ruthie is very excited to come to our meeting and share her love of color and quilting. We are more than welcome to have her present to Gainesville Modern Quilters!

Who's coming tonight?

Hey all... as you know I'm expecting a baby any day now and have been having some mild contractions so I won't be at tonight's meeting.  But Michelle has been kind enough to offer to run tonight's meeting and take pictures of the finished challenge quilts.  If no one is going to show up I would hate to waste her time.... so, I'm writing to see if I could get a feel for who is planning on attending tonight?  Has anyone finished their challenge quilts yet?

Tonight's meeting is at Milhopper Library in Meeting Room A- 7:00pm (same place and time as usual)
